The client’s business development and strategy teams were relying on multiple disconnected internal and external knowledge databases, resulting in duplicated efforts and limited visibility into critical data required for insights and decision-making.
The legacy platform was based on older technology and a scattered implementation of serverless tools, leading to maintenance challenges and poor scalability. There was no unified structure to collate key molecular data (including MOA and Clinical insights) in a searchable and accessible format.
Due to the absence of role-based access control (RBAC), sensitive information was exposed to unauthorized access. The fragmented architecture also posed risks of increased long-term operational costs and growing technical debt if left unaddressed.

We migrated the application to AWS Amplify’s fully managed serverless platform using a lift-and-shift strategy. This enabled hassle-free deployment, consolidated multiple backend systems into a unified architecture, and set the foundation for scalability and maintainability.
We implemented role-based access control (RBAC), ensuring only authorized users could access specific datasets based on their roles. This significantly enhanced the platform’s security posture and compliance readiness.
We addressed several existing bugs and broken workflows, thereby stabilizing the platform and ensuring reliable performance across all user journeys and data retrieval processes.
We introduced new features like enhanced search capabilities (by MOA, target, originator, or license), smarter backend integrations, and UI theming upgrades. This improved user experience and simplified access to relevant, indexed documents. Backend consolidation also helped reduce technical debt and paved the way for future enhancements.
